Local Dancers Set Their Sights on Representing England

Eleven young dancers from Valentine Theatre School in Marston Green are hoping to represent England at the Global Dance Open World Finals in the Netherlands in summer 2027.

Aged 9 to 16, the girls train five to seven days a week and will compete at the England Qualifiers in February, hoping to secure their places at the international finals.

They follow an impressive VTS history at the Global Dance Open, with previous dancers winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, earning places in the prestigious Gala and achieving the Dancer of the Globe title.

Get behind Team VTS

Fundraising is now underway to help give the girls the best possible opportunity as they work towards the Global Dance Open. The group is looking for local businesses and organisations to get behind Team VTS through sponsorship, donations, and raffle prizes.

Support directly online: A GoFundMe page has been launched to directly support the girls’ travel and entry costs. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference!

Based at Birmingham Business Park, VTS has its own dedicated dance and music studios and welcomes children and young people aged 2 to 18.

Its students have achieved success far beyond the competition stage. Current pupil Oisín is touring professionally in the role of Michael in Billy Elliot the Musical, while other recent achievements include performances at the Royal Albert Hall and on BBC’s The One Show, scholarships to many prestigious dance and performing arts colleges, and being scouted by the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School.

Whether children dream of performing professionally, competing or simply want to build confidence, make friends and enjoy dancing, new students are welcome and free trials are available.
