The Chair of Governors at Water Orton Primary School, Steve Stuart, has announced he is stepping down as after a period of five years and the recent publication of a highly positive OFSTED inspection report.
To commemorate and thank him for his work over the years Steve was presented with a Hoodie at the school’s annual Leavers Assembly – the same as those worn by the children who leave the school each year.
Steve commented, “It has been an absolute privilege and pleasure to serve as Chair of Governors but it is the right time to hand over the baton to a wonderful team of leaders and governors to build on the foundations put into place. The School has just received a great OFSTED report. The school has been praised for its work for its curriculum and teaching, inclusion, leadership and governance, attendance and behaviour as well as personal development and wellbeing. It was gratifying to receive acknowledgement for the work undertaken and the professionalism of all associated with our school”
“For the school to improve to such an extent is a real achievement especially as these are difficult times for
the whole educational sector and I am very proud of what has been achieved and the people who have helped to make it happen.”
Steve, who had served as a Governor for 3 years before becoming chair said, “The school site has been transformed over the last couple of years and these improvements both inside and outside will continue to improve to enable our children to receive an educational experience fit for the 21st century.”
“To receive the hoodie was thoughtful and very touching. I will wear it with pride around the village and I’ll ensure I wear it at a forthcoming council meeting.”
