Project with the Youth Justice Service

PCSO Yaqub from Coleshill Safer Neighbourhood Team and the Youth Justice Service from Nuneaton Justice Centre started a project for teenagers from 16 to 21 years old. The teenagers have been involved in road traffic offences and drug related offences, the purpose of the project is to educate the younger generation about traffic offences as well as the side effects of drug driving.

PCSO Yaqub said

“It is also important to build a rapport with the young generation. When police engage with young people early, it helps humanise officers and break down negative stereotypes. Young people are more likely to see police as approachable and supportive rather than someone to fear.”
