Coleshill and District U3A
What is the U3A? University of the 3rd Age is a national organisation that has been active for 40 years, our branch for 11 years, providing the opportunity for those who no longer work to come together, and learn for fun.
We meet monthly at 10.30 a.m. on the 3rd Monday of the month at Coleshill Town Hall where we are entertained by a speaker followed by refreshments and a chance to chat, socialise, and learn about our interest groups. Our speakers cover an eclectic range of topics: from Henry VIII who, in full regalia, gave a very funny and witty talk about his six wives; a singer who sang her way through the decades of female country singers; to an interesting and informative talk about Zeppelins!
We also have a varied range of interest groups. These are led by our members who draw from their experience to lead a group that meet on a regular basis. Do you have knowledge about a topic that you would like to share or are you interested in getting involved in something new? Then the U3A is just the thing for you. Our groups include walking, garden visits, reading, history, to name but a few. For a full list of groups and the programme of future speakers visit us at www.coleshillanddistrictu3a.org.uk. or learn more at our meetings. Annual membership is £25.00.
The next meeting is on April 25th where Steve Allen, a musician and singer, will take us on a journey from the Industrial Revolution to the 1960’s with songs, illustrations, and film clips.
So why not come along and check it out! We are a very friendly and social group, and you can be assured of a warm welcome.
And remember……It’s never too late to learn!!!
