Small Business of the Year Nominees!

Well we’re all over the Moon at being nominated for the 2022 Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year award. They had record entries this year, so we were chuffed, delighted and proud to find ourselves shortlisted in the final three businesses.

PLOTT has been actively involved with the Chamber for years. It fits in perfectly with our desire to work with, and give back, to our local community, something we’ve believed in since the early days of PLOTT.

PLOTT, Managing Director, Anna Plotnek, commented, ‘The Chamber can open doors for members, yes, but we get most of our work from referrals; so the membership is, for us, much more about involvement in local matters and being part of something bigger than just us.’

We spend a lot of time advising clients how to tell their story; to tell people why they do what they do, not just what they do. During the application process it was lovely to spend time thinking about ourselves, about PLOTT. It’s not our story, per se, we tell that extensively on our website. But it focussed our attention on our successes. No one likes a braggart, but how often do you stop to smell the roses? How often do you think about the fruits of your labour?

During the process the Chamber seeks to find how a company performs and behaves within its local economy. So they ask questions about growth, performance and company size as you’d expect. But there’s always a focus on community and social responsibility, local relationships, and charity work.

We’ll be looking forward to the awards ceremony at Drayton Manor Hotel on Friday 4th February. We’re sure to face some stiff competition from some excellent local businesses. But it’s sure to be a lovely evening. Meanwhile we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed.
