Yoga Studio in Nether Whitacre – Free Trial Session

Did you know that you have your very own Yoga Studio right on your doorstep in Nether Whitacre, B46? Did you also know that yoga is one of the best ways to help improve physical and mental health?

Studies have shown that a regular yoga practice significantly lowers levels of the stress hormone cortisol and reduces anxiety, fatigue and insomnia. On a physical level, it can reduce blood pressure, improve digestion, lung capacity and reduce back and other pain as well as improving posture and increasing strength and suppleness.

My name is Lisa and I am the primary teacher at Sole 2 Soul Yoga. I’ve been practicing yoga and meditation for over 20 years and teaching for the last 8 years. Classes, personal sessions and Thai Yoga Massages are run from my wonderful Yoga Studio ‘The Yoga Shack’ in peaceful, rural Nether Whitacre.

I’m offering a FREE trial session for any one of my extensive range of online or in person classes (See the end of this article for the relevant web links)

Breathing and meditation practices are coupled with slow (but sometimes strong) methodical movement. There’s no need to be flexible or strong but yoga will help you become more supple and improve muscle strength, blood and lymph flow which in turn helps us feel good in our body and mind, and when we feel good, we want to move more and make better health choices, so its an ongoing ‘feel good’ cycle. We can start at any age, weight or fitness (and I have students in their 20’s and 80’s)

That being said, there are so many ‘styles’ of yoga out there today and one size (or teacher) doesn’t fit all! There are some pretty intense strong sessions out there which are great for keeping fit (and I teach these and can stand on my head with the best of them) but there are also relaxed stretchy and restorative style physical practices suitable for all.

I love teaching both styles and have a wealth of experience dealing with all types of bodies and am trained in children’s, special needs and pregnancy yoga too.

3 tips to feel good right now

  1. Move – stretch your arms up, take a side bend, a forward fold, move your neck – just feel how good it can be to move. Yoga helps shift energy by getting the body moving.
  2. Relax your shoulders and jaw. Soften the space between your eye brows. Sit up tall and close your eyes.
  3. Take a deep breath…take another. Keep your focus on the breath and the movement of the breath in the body. Notice if thoughts pop into the head and let them go, coming back to focus on the breath.
