The New Coleshill Bar & Grill
It was along time coming and finally on Wednesday 19th May the New Coleshill Bar & Grill was born, and finally made its entrance into the world of food and drink.
The owners Bill Tiwana, Neetan Jain, Bhikram Kharel and Raju Khatri…. THE FOUR FRIENDS PUB COMPANY LTD Trading as Coleshill Bar and Grill worked hard for a year and a half on the renovation of the Old Norton Pub opposite Coleshill Train Station on Station Road, to get the Bar & Grill open last year in 2020 and just when they finished, the pandemic arrived, which put a halt on the opening, and it lay dormant for a while until restrictions for hospitality were eased on May 17th, 2021.
The old pub was a little tired and it underwent a total refurbishment, including a brand new extended shiny state of the art Kitchen and a great new Menu to go with it.
It was a Grand opening, and some of the local businesses and dignitaries in Coleshill were invited along, with Coleshill’s Town Mayor Adam Jak Richardson who had the honour of cutting the ribbon and declaring The New Coleshill Bar and Grill open.
The opening looked spectacular with a display of balloons and entertainment for guests throughout the evening with Funki Ents Dancers who were fantastic.
We were offered some free drinks and Fizz and also a selection of nibbles where provided as a taster of the Northern Asian style Indian grill food to come.
We stayed, to sample the food offering and between four of us, we ordered a selection of different dishes including a medium grill consisting of Seekh Kebab, Chicken Tikka, Chicken Wings, Lamb Chops, & Fish Pakora, One Chicken Karahi, one Lamb Clay Pot and sides consisting of Pilau Rice, Garlic Naan and Chilli Chips. All the food was very succulent and aromatic in flavour, and I have to say the medium grill was more than enough for four people.
The menu also offers an English and Vegetarian selection for those not wanting anything a little spicy.
The Bar offers a selection of beers and wines and my favourite (a must try) drink is the Spanish draught lager on offer called “MADRI”
As the afternoon and evening was the grand opening it felt a bit hectic, and the waiting staff worked really hard considering how busy and buzzing the place was.
You can even sit outside if you prefer in their new landscaped garden or sheltered area.
The Grill will be offering food every day from 12pm -10pm starting with light lunches in the afternoon through to dinner in the evening.
It is great to see the place open again and not sitting there empty, also a handy place to pop into when you get off the train or meeting up with friends after work.
